VPNProNet Speed Test

Our speed test revealed minimal lag time after connecting to the US  PPTP based server.  Baseline speed was 10 Mb/sec and after the VPN was running we experienced 8Mb/sec download. Minimal lag time for a VPN.  Others have reported a little slowing  but no one reported any significant speed problems that we have found.

Pricing for VPNProNet can be a bit confusing as VPNPronet has shared, dedicated, monthly, timed and bandwidth measured accounts. Also combine this variety in plan options with the fact that you can realize significant discounts by signing up for a year in advance and you have a lots of options in terms of pricing.

Here is a quick explanation

• Shared IP Unlimited monthly accounts  ( PPTP / OpenVPN only)  range from $8 / month to $45 for the year ( $4 a month)
• Shared IP time limited accounts — range from $2.50 for 10 hours to $8.00 for 100 hours of access
• Shared IP bandwidth limited accounts – start at 100 MB for $2.50 and go to 1,000 MB for $8.00.
• Dedicated IP’s –   have no bandwidth limitation and prices range from $15.00 for one month access up to $99.99 for a full year.

We would also prefer personally a VPN service provider with more geographically diverse endpoints. That said, VPNProNet is a decent choice nonetheless.
