VyprVPN Update Released
VyprVPN by Golden Frog has been updated to version 1.3. If you’re a user of this service, the updates aren’t things that you’ll notice on the surface but they do address some of the major issues related to security that likely concern people who are aware enough of such things to use a VPN service in the first place.

DNS Poisoning
DNS poisoning has become a common method of attack on the Internet. The new VyprVPN app is designed to eliminate the connection problems that you might experience it you’re being victimized by a third-party that’s poisoning your DNS. This type of attack has been in the news a lot lately, due to the fact that a lot of security threats have utilized the DNS poisoning tactic to commit malicious acts against users. With the new update to the VyprVPN app, you shouldn’t have to worry about such attacks interfering with your VPN connection.
Virus Security
The updated VyprVPN app will also utilize digitally signed files to update itself in the future. This allows your antivirus software to verify that the files are safe for installation and should eliminate any issues that you have with antivirus software interfering with your updating process.
Functionality
The VyprVPN app version 1.3 looks exactly like the previous version, as most of the changes are under the hood. You can still connect to any of the servers on the VyperVPN service by right clicking on your system tray and choosing from a drop-down menu of your previous servers or by opening the app completely and searching for the server you want from the complete list.
VyprVPN supports PPTP and L2TP connectivity natively and, for an additional monthly charge, you can use it to connect to the Internet via OpenVPN. The VyprVPN service can also be bundled with other offerings from Golden Frog, including the Giganews USENET service and the Dump Truck secure online file storage service, which has recently added public directories to its offerings.
Users of the VyprVPN app will receive a prompt to update their version when they log onto the service. You can also access the update option by right clicking on your VyprVPN icon in your system tray and choosing the “Update Now” menu option, which only appears when there are updates available. If it does not appear on your system tray menu, your client is up to date and running the current version of this popular VPN client software.
