HideIPVPN offers an easy-to-use client and all the common VPN protocols, plus SSTP and SoftEther. The server selection is a bit limited compared to some other providers, but the speeds were most impressive in our testing. They also offer a SmartDNS service for when you don’t require encryption. HideIPVPN has been in business since 2008 and is headquartered in Moldova.

The client installed quickly and easily and provided a reliable, fast connection.
VPN Server Locations
The selection of US servers was limited, so we tested first a connection from Albuquerque to Washington DC over a 50Mbps/5Mbps line. We then tested a connection from the HideIPVPN server near Washington DC back to a testing server in Albuquerque. Overall, the performance was very impressive, showing only a 6Mbps reduction in speed with the VPN connection and almost no reduction in upload speed.
IP Check and DNSLeak
The HideIPVPN client performed flawlessly. The IP address matched the one indicated by the client and the DNS did not leak with Windows set to get the DNS server address automatically.

Areas for Improvement
More servers in each nation and a more transparent way to select them would be nice.
This is an excellent VPN service all around. HideIPVPN offered great speed, even when routed across the country one extra time during testing. The only thing that suffered was the ping time, which is inevitable. The client is very simple, but allows you to use five different VPN protocols, a standout feature of this service.
