VPNPronet is a popular VPN service provider that is exclusively based in the USA . VPNProNet offers both shared and dedicated IP addresses and supports both PPTP and the OpenVPN protocol.   They have standard unlimited bandwidth plans, time limited and bandwidth limited plans. VpnProNet has been in business since 2008.

Pricing & Plans

Pricing for VPNProNet can be a bit confusing as VPNPronet has shared, dedicated, monthly, timed and bandwidth measured accounts. Also combine this variety in plan options with the fact that you can realize significant discounts by signing up for a year in advance and you have a lot of options in terms of pricing.

Here is a quick explanation

• Shared IP Unlimited monthly accounts  ( PPTP / OpenVPN only)  range from $8 / month to $45 for the year ( $4 a month)
• Shared IP time limited accounts — range from $2.50 for 10 hours to $8.00 for 100 hours of access
• Shared IP bandwidth limited accounts – start at 100 MB for $2.50 and go to 1,000 MB for $8.00.
• Dedicated IP’s –   have no bandwidth limitation and prices range from $15.00 for one month access up to $99.99 for a full year.

No free trial or money back option appear to be available.

VPNProNet accepts Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, and Liberty Reserve payments.

Regarding Paypal they have a strict policy that all payments through PayPal must come from a verified PayPal account.

Privacy & Anonymity

On their privacy policy they state “We Keep Log Files on our Servers for Only 5 days. After that the Log Files are Deleted from our Servers. The Log Files are only used for Monitoring Server Performance, Identifying Software Bugs, Identifying any Potential Security Breaches, and for the Purpose of Identifying Abusive Users. The Log Files are not Used for Monitoring or Censoring your Internet Activities. We Respect Your Privacy. We are not Interested in What You do on the Internet. ”

Customer Support

VPNProNet has an online support area with an extensive knowledge base and the ability to submit issue tickets, and e-mail. We found that the email support was pretty fast for the questions but the knowledgebase pretty short on material

Product Testing

VPNProNet has no clients and as such their service will work with almost all  computers and operating systems.

The protocols again are PPTP and OpenVPN  and VPNProNet has comprehensive setup tutorials for every OS in a readable version and a video version.

In our test of VPNProNet on a Windows 7 64 bit system we were up in running in less than 20 minutes from arriving on the web page to surfing

Speed Test

Our speed test revealed minimal lag time after connecting to the US  PPTP based server.  Baseline speed was 10 Mb/sec and after the VPN was running we experienced 8Mb/sec download. Minimal lag time for a VPN.  Others have reported a little slowing  but no one reported any significant speed problems that we have found.

Areas for Improvement

While we like VPNProNet – some might consider it a liability that their service is only available in one country.  Nonetheless prices seem to be inline with the market and support seems good.

Conclusion

VPNProNet seems like a good service and we experienced a good level of service in our test  however we don’t like the lack of a free trial or no money back guarantee offer.

We would also prefer a VPN service provider with more geographically diverse endpoints. That said, VPNProNet is a decent choice nonetheless.In summary, we recommend that you review our best vpn service providers list and also put VPNProNet on your short list of  quality VPN providers.
